Peregrine

"Peregrine" was the internal name for the PowerStorm 300 and 350 graphics cards.  These cards were the main 3D graphics system for Alpha based workstations for several years.

Based on the Evans & Sutherland RI2000 graphics controller, the PowerStorm 3xx was offered in both PCI and AGP versions.

The PowerStorm 300 included 15 MB of frame buffer memory and 16 MB of texture memory.

The PowerStorm 350 included 30 MB of frame buffer memory and 32 MB of texture memory.  It supported high resolution display, up to 1920x1200.  It also supported quad-buffered stereo display at resolutions up to 1280x1024.

Like the "Eclipse", Peregrine was designed and manufactured by Digital.
